Merritt

Here's the littlest boy partaking in his favorite past-time.

Graysonian

While the other little boys in the neighborhood were playing outside - pulling each others fingers and playing tag - our sweet child was holed up in his room all day creating his very first museum. Complete with hand written descriptions of his exhibits and dinosaurs made of Lego's, of course. He presented us with a map and tickets for a viewing and then (all while calling us "sir" and "ma'am") guided us on a tour of all of his hard work.

Priceless and totally Grayson. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next.

PS - he just told me and Marc that he wants to start a dog walking business so he can give $1,000 to Santa to buy supplies so that all of the children in the world will have Christmas presents. Seriously. He's not real.

I heart Saturday nights

Lazy nights when school is back in session are possibly my biggest and most coveted luxury. Seriously.

Marc went to the Texans game, and it was just me and the little boys, cozy and LAZY.

Grayson and I spent some time on the porch trying to identify a preying mantis with the help of his insect encyclopedia. For a little boy obsessed with all things Chinese you can imagine his delight when we realized that our porch visitor was indeed a Chinese Praying Mantis.

Merritt is walking - and dancing. Lots of dancing. He loves music and bounces anytime he hears a beat. Hysterical. Looks like a little fat drunk man.

Grayson asked me the following tonight:

Grayson: Mom, are there trash cans in space?
Me: I don't think so, why?
Grayson: Well, are satellites controlled from the earth of from space?
Me: Um, from the earth.
Grayson: What happens if a meteor crashes into a satellite? Where does the trash go from the satellite?

I had NO answer for the boy - he amazes me with his thought process and the things he comes up with. I hope he is always this curious.

Happy Saturday night.

PS - Grayson has officially begun decorating the house for Halloween. I have little hand drawn pumpkins sprinkled throughout the house and duck-taped to the walls. Gorgeous.

Grandma & Pepaw's Monster Jam

Grandma submitted this lovely from their recent road trip to Corpus for Monster Jam:

Grandma, maybe you better sit in the back seat of the car with me.

Why, are you lonely?

No, it's safer and if we're in a crash, you won't get hurt.

What about Pepaw?

No response from him.

Wii

We now have the best thing ever invented...Netflix on Wii. It's awesome - for $10 a month Grayson can pick nearly any movie in the world and it plays instantly thru the Wii.

Even better than the convenience of this little gem is hearing things like this:

Grayson: Mom can I watch the bed ha?
Me: The what?
Grayson: The bed ha?
Me: Spell it
Grayson: t-h-e b-u-d-d-h-a
Me: Ahhh, the Buddha.

This should be fun.

Grayson's Sweet Side

Why he thinks he should get dessert before he finishes his dinner:

"In my belly I have a healthy side and a sweet side. The healthy side is stuffed and the sweet side is totally empty."

Strep Throat - Day 2

Grayson is sick, but I won't complain too much because this means unlimited snuggles and the guarantee that he ONLY wants his mama (those moments are quickly becoming far and few these days).

Yesterday he told me I was the best mommy in the world - followed of course by a fart.

He is 100% boy.

Here is what Merritt is doing...Chicks Dig Him

And finally - this is my favorite shot from Spring Break
